Following on from the success of “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly” seminar held in December 2009, BPK hosted a “Contractors Event” on 4 February 2010 in Cockermouth. The theme was “Getting paid, on time AND keeping future business”.

The first speaker of the night was solicitor Paul Forster who works from the Carlisle office; Paul discussed the importance of knowing who you are dealing with and pressed home the importance of obtaining such detail at the very outset of any transaction.

The second speaker was solicitor Claire Harrison who works from the Cockermouth office; Claire discussed Contract Terms and Conditions giving practical examples and providing down-to-earth guidance.

The final speaker of the night was Ian Donald from Bluefin insurance brokers; Ian gave an instructive talk on insurance issues and provided some sensible tips.
The seminar finished with a light hearted quiz to send everyone off with a smile.
